Every hospital that bills Medicare files an annual cost report with CMS, and Worksheet S-3 of that report is where the staffing lives: the count of full-time-equivalent (FTE) employees, the number of beds, discharges, and salaries. From those figures you can read a hospital's staffing intensity — how many FTEs it runs per bed.
This tool searches the flattened HCRIS cost-report roster by hospital name and shows the hospital, its city and state, and the computed FTE-per-bed ratio. Behind the unlock you get the Medicare CCN, the bed count, the total FTE employees, annual discharges, the ownership/control type, and the cost-report fiscal year.
The value is comparability.
